Gagik Khachatryan Appears in Court Accompanied by Ambulance

The former head of the State Revenue Committee, Gagik Khachatryan, was reported to have arrived at the court session accompanied by an ambulance.

His legal team stated: "The court session is currently underway, and Gagik Khachatryan has been presented from an inpatient care facility. His health is assessed as satisfactory, but it has been advised that he should not remain seated or standing for extended periods. Attorney Yerem Sargsyan will again file a motion to allow Khachatryan to travel abroad due to the necessity for urgent surgery. This motion has been delayed for months due to unlawful objections from the prosecutor's office and court rulings, which could lead to irreversible consequences," the statement noted.

It is reminded that Gagik Khachatryan and Karen Khachatryan are accused of alleged abuse of power, misappropriation of property, and document forgery during their time in public office. Both deny the charges against them, and based on the available evidence in the case, they have never attempted to evade investigation or obstruct the proceedings. Gagik Khachatryan, while in Germany in 2019, interrupted his mandatory post-operative treatment upon the first phone call from the investigator, returned to Armenia, and appeared before the prosecuting authorities. Karen Khachatryan personally presented himself to the court after the announcement of the detention ruling.
