Sentence of Azerbaijani Soldier Who Murdered ZPMK Guard Has Been Increased: What Awaits Him
The punishment of Azerbaijani soldier Huseyn Akhundov, who invaded Armenian territory and murdered the guard of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, has been intensified. This was reported by the ‘Pastinfo’ agency.
“The Court of Appeal, under the presidency of Judge Grigor Hovhannisyan, has granted the appeal of the successors of ZPMK guard Hayrapet Meliksetyan, partially overturning the first-instance verdict and sentencing Akhundov to life imprisonment,” the media outlet reports.
It should be noted that Akhundov killed Hayrapet Meliksetyan, a security employee of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, near the village of Shgharshik in the Kapan community on April 12. On June 21, the first-instance court in the Syunik region sentenced Huseyn Akhundov to 20 years in prison for the murder of the security officer of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine.
