Kerobyan on Reasons for Restrictions on Certain Goods from Armenia
During a meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan addressed the statement from Rosselkhoznadzor, revealing that discussions with Russian partners are underway this week.
“The Ministry of Economy and our colleagues from the Eurasian Economic Commission, along with the Minister responsible for internal market protection, Mr. Simonian, and others, have initiated a discussion that is scheduled for this week. During these discussions, we aim to understand what has changed in the regulations that has led to such a change in statistics,” stated Kerobyan.
The Minister noted that the publication of Rosselkhoznadzor and the accompanying information are being thoroughly examined by the relevant authorities. It should be recalled that Rosselkhoznadzor announced today that there has been a sharp increase in the supply of agricultural products infected with pests from Armenia.
According to Kerobyan, there were fewer than 40 cases last year (now there are already 72), and at that time, the products were also being returned to Russia. The Minister emphasized that Armenia's economic policy aims to produce high-standard products that can be exported in various directions.
