Major News Agency Photographers Appeared Extremely Quickly at October 7 Events: Accusation
On November 8, the non-governmental organization Honest Reporting, which "monitors media bias against Israel," drew attention to the fact that photographers from AP, Reuters, CNN, and The New York Times appeared unusually quickly at the center of the events on October 7.
In response to the publication, Reuters was compelled to publicly deny claims that it was aware in advance of preparations for an attack on Israeli territory by the Palestinian Hamas movement at the beginning of October.
The agency stated that photographs published by them, taken on the morning of October 7 at the location where Hamas militants breached the Israeli border, were obtained from local photographers with whom Reuters had not previously collaborated.
"The published photographs were taken two hours after Hamas began firing rockets into southern Israel and more than 45 minutes after Israel announced that armed individuals had crossed the border," emphasized the agency in its accountability article.
Earlier, Honest Reporting had suggested that photographers from leading news agencies (AP, Reuters, CNN, and The New York Times) could have been aware of the Hamas attack in southern Israel in advance. They pointed out the fact that photographers cooperating with the world’s leading media outlets appeared at the center of the October 7 events very rapidly.
Israel has requested clarifications from AP, Reuters, CNN, and the NYT regarding the actions of their photographers on October 7.
