Sanctions Against Hamas by G7 Countries
The G7 is preparing to impose sanctions against the Palestinian Hamas movement to deprive the organization of funding opportunities, reports Italian news agency Ansa, citing a concluding statement from the foreign ministers' meeting of the "Group of Seven" in Tokyo.
The information is conveyed by RIA Novosti.
“The G7 members, together with regional partners, are making every effort to prevent further escalation of the conflict and its broader spread. We are also working together on the potential application of sanctions or other measures to deprive Hamas of the means to collect and use resources for carrying out atrocities,” the statement reads.
It is notable that the meeting of foreign ministers from the world's seven developed countries took place in Tokyo on November 7-8.
