Fire Continues for Two Days in Dilijan National Park
Firefighting efforts in the Dilijan National Park resumed early this morning, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Environment.
On November 6, at 1:30 PM, the crisis management center received a call indicating smoke visible from the forest adjacent to the Haghartsin Monastic Complex. Rescuers were dispatched to the scene and discovered that the fire had ignited in the third section of the Dilijan National Park. By 5:50 PM, the fire had been contained.
“At 8:07 PM, firefighting activities were halted due to darkness and difficult terrain. Staff from the Dilijan National Park were placed on duty,” stated the ministry.
This morning, firefighting efforts resumed. As of 3:00 PM, the fire continues to spread in the Haghartsin area of Dilijan National Park due to wind conditions.
