11-Year-Old Girl Injured by Shot Fired by 13-Year-Old Boy: Police Provide Details
A tragic incident occurred today in Akhuryan when a 13-year-old boy fired a shot with a TIR-type rifle at the ground. The metal bullet struck an 11-year-old girl in the chest, resulting in injury to her lung. Law enforcement officials have seized the firearm.
To gather further details about the incident, Auroranews contacted the Shirak Regional Police Department, where they confirmed that the incident took place but directed us to the Police Press Office without providing additional specifics.
We also reached out to the Police Press Office. In a conversation with us, Zarzand Gabrielian, head of the Public Relations and Information Department of the Police, stated that a report regarding the incident has been filed, and the documentation has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee.
“It was a TIR firearm. The child fired at the ground, and accidentally, a fragment hit the nearby girl,” he elaborated.
