We Hope That This Special Opportunity Will Not Be Missed: Bayramov
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, during a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, called on Armenia not to miss the opportunity to sign a peace treaty.
Bayramov believes that the restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty opens new opportunities for peace with Armenia. According to him, there is currently a special opportunity to reach agreements.
"This arrangement, based on mutual recognition and respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of each other's borders, will not only serve Azerbaijan and Armenia but will also ensure the opening of untapped cooperation opportunities within the region and beyond. Seizing this opportunity, I would like to emphasize Azerbaijan's peace agenda once again. We expect a constructive approach from the other side and reciprocal steps. We hope that this special opportunity will not be missed," Bayramov said after his meeting with his Romanian counterpart in Bucharest.
Meanwhile, the Romanian Foreign Minister noted that Romania supports the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. "Romania endorses the mediation efforts of Charles Michel, President of the European Council. We advocate for a resolution of this issue in accordance with the principles of international law. Establishing sustainable peace and security in the South Caucasus is of great importance to Romania," stated Luminița Odobescu, the Romanian Foreign Minister.
