Turkey Proposes Sending Troops to Gaza
Fatih Erbakan, leader of the 'New Prosperity' party within Turkey's ruling 'Republican Alliance,' has called on the parliament to vote in favor of sending Turkish troops to the Gaza Strip for a duration of one year. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
“According to Article 92 of the Turkish Constitution, we compellingly request and demand a decision to be made regarding the deployment of elements of the Turkish armed forces in Gaza, the boundaries, scale, and number of which will be determined by the president for one year, with the aim of establishing a secure zone on land and a security corridor at sea,” the political figure was quoted by the Yeni Akit newspaper.
He further stated that the party would address a message to the presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, urging for the parliamentary vote to take place as soon as possible, with the support of all parties represented in parliament.
