Further Escalation Not Excluded: Lebanese Prime Minister on Conflict with Israel
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has stated that he aims to prevent the country from entering into conflict with Israel, but does not rule out further escalation, as reported by TASS.
"I am fulfilling my responsibilities to prevent Lebanon from entering into war," he told Agence France-Presse.
At the same time, the Prime Minister mentioned that he "does not rule out the escalation of the conflict." The situation in the Middle East has deteriorated since the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from Gaza into Israel on October 7. Over two hundred hostages have been taken.
