Israel Must Protect Peaceful Residents of Gaza Strip: Jake Sullivan

Israel is obligated under international law to protect the peaceful residents of the Gaza Strip during airstrikes and ground battles, stated Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor to the President of the United States.

The United States demands that the weapons provided to Israel be used in accordance with the "laws of war" to shield civilians from attacks. According to Sullivan, Washington raises similar demands when transferring arms to other countries.

Sullivan also accused the Palestinian Hamas movement of creating obstacles for American citizens and other foreigners in the Gaza Strip.
