Illegal Transportation of Expensive Mobile Phones Worth $178,000 Registered at Bavra Checkpoint
The State Revenue Committee reports that recently, employees of the Bavra customs checkpoint of the North Customs Office uncovered an instance of illegal transportation of expensive mobile phones through the Bavra state border crossing point without declaration.
In particular, during the inspection of a vehicle that arrived from Georgia to the Republic of Armenia, it was revealed that the cargo compartment contained 150 mobile phones of the 'iPhone' brand belonging to 'Apple.' The total value of the phones amounted to approximately $178,000.
As a result of the incident, an administrative proceeding has been initiated under Article 316 of the RA law on 'Customs Regulation.'
