Former Prime Ministers in Armenia to Access Airport VIP Lounges Post-2018
Former Prime Ministers in Armenia will be able to use the special lounges in the republican airports starting from 2018. The draft law making amendments to the law on "Ensuring the Activities of Officials, Services, and Social Guarantees" was presented by Deputy Foreign Minister Mntazakan Safaryan on October 24 for a second reading.
The draft received 67 votes in favor, with 24 against and 6 abstentions. Previously, access to the special lounges in republican airports was limited to the President of Armenia, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament, former Presidents, and their immediate families. Therefore, from the moment the law is adopted, former Prime Ministers will also be able to use the airport's special lounge. This regulation applies specifically to former prime ministers who stepped down after 2018.
