Arms and Ammunition Imported from Artsakh to Armenia, Minister Says
Arms and ammunition have been imported from Artsakh to Armenia, and the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs is aware of this. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Vahagn Ghazaryan, during a Q&A session with the government in the National Assembly.
“There are individuals who are already voluntarily bringing these items and handing them over. In the last three days, four pistols and two smoothbore firearms have been brought and handed over by residents of Artsakh,” he announced.
According to the minister, relevant instructions have been issued by the Police Chief, awareness-raising activities have been conducted, and an appeal has been made to bring in and surrender illegal firearms to law enforcement agencies.
Ghazaryan reiterated that if the firearms are brought and surrendered voluntarily, individuals will be exempt from criminal liability.
