What is the Reason for the Delay in Ground Assault in Gaza

The ground assault in the Gaza Strip is being postponed for "strategic reasons." This was announced by the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Herzi Halevi, emphasizing that the Hamas group already "regrets" starting the war against Israel. This is reported by Times of Israel.

"The Israeli army is prepared for the ground maneuver, and we will make a decision with the political leadership regarding the form and timing of the next phase," Halevi said.

He highlighted that there are "tactical and even strategic considerations" that are delaying the ground assault, but these allow Israel to better prepare. "We are utilizing every minute to prepare better—killing terrorists, destroying infrastructure, gathering more intelligence for the next phase. This is our state, our home, and we will defend it by all means," he stated.
