Macron Proposes to Fight Hamas Within an International Coalition
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has called for the expansion of the international coalition fighting the terrorist group Islamic State to also include actions against the Palestinian Hamas. This was reported by lemonde.fr.
Speaking at a press conference in Jerusalem following talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Macron stated that countries combating ISIS in Iraq and Syria "must also fight against Hamas." He emphasized that France is ready to do so.
The French leader also underscored the necessity of "resolutely restarting" the Palestinian peace process. "Israel's security cannot be stable without a decisive resumption of the political process with the Palestinians," Macron added.
