Russian President Vladimir Putin held a press conference with journalists following a three-hour meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Among other topics, Putin addressed the Russian-Ukrainian war and the possibility of negotiations.

Putin specifically stated, “In Ukraine, they are thinking about the negotiation process; this is a transformation in the right direction, commendable, but not enough. If Ukraine wants a negotiation process, theatrical gestures are unnecessary; the prohibitive decree must be repealed.”
