Azerbaijan Appoints Military Commander for Stepanakert
Azerbaijan has appointed Major General Sardar Safarov as the commander of Stepanakert. This was reported by musavat.biz, with a corresponding order signed in connection with the announcement.
It is noteworthy that just days prior, analyst Tatul Hakobyan had posted on his Facebook page that Azerbaijan had appointed an Armenian, Sarkis Galstyan, as the commander of Stepanakert. This information was categorically denied by David Galstyan, the head of the Artsakh National Assembly’s ‘Justice’ faction and the nephew of Sarkis Galstyan.
