Criminal Case to Be Initiated for Assaulting Bystanders in St. Petersburg by Azerbaijanis

The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, has instructed to prepare a report and initiate a criminal case regarding the assault of random passersby by Azerbaijanis in St. Petersburg. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

Telegram channels such as Baza have reported that a group of Azerbaijanis is assaulting random passersby in St. Petersburg and posting these incidents on social media. ‘The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia has instructed the acting head of the main department in St. Petersburg, O.V. Bobkov, to initiate a criminal case and prepare a report,’ reads the statement.

Videos posted online show young individuals attacking random passersby, beating them and insulting them. These incidents are occurring in various parts of St. Petersburg, mainly near metro stations and shopping centers.

Earlier reports indicated that a mob of Azerbaijani youths is causing chaos and assaulting local residents without any provocation in St. Petersburg.
