Casualty Figures in Israel and Gaza Strip
The human casualties in Israel have exceeded 1,200 due to the surprise attack by the Palestinian Hamas group that began on Saturday. Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Jonathan Conricus reported that most of the casualties are civilians.
In contrast, the number of fatalities in the Gaza Strip resulting from Israeli military operations has surpassed 950, with over 5,000 individuals injured, according to the health ministry in Gaza. It is known that among the casualties are more than 200 children.
Notably, the casualties include the renowned Soviet theoretical physicist Sergey Gredeskul and his wife, who were killed on October 7 during the assault by Hamas militants in the Israeli city of Ofakim.
It is important to recall that in the morning of October 7, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented missile attack from the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army's press service reported that extremists launched more than 3,000 rockets. Additionally, dozens of militants infiltrated border areas in southern Israel. In response, Israel has carried out retaliatory strikes.
