Some Countries Advise Citizens to Avoid Travel to Conflict Zones

The Netherlands and Russia are advising their citizens to avoid traveling to conflict zones. The Ministry of Economic Development has recommended that Russian tour operators halt the sale of tours to Israel. The ministry also advises Russian citizens to refrain from traveling to Israel.

The Netherlands similarly recommends that its citizens travel to Israel and the Palestinian territories only in cases of extreme necessity, according to a statement from the country’s Foreign Ministry.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has changed the travel advisory for both Israel and the Palestinian territories from yellow to orange,” the statement reads.

Additionally, chaos has erupted at Tel Aviv's airport today, as thousands of people attempt to leave the country, while staff report flight cancellations. Videos of the situation have also emerged.
