Chernamoryan on Possible Victims and Injuries Among Israelis of Armenian Descent

As a result of the military attack on Israel by Palestinian forces, there are no Armenians among the casualties and injured, nor have Armenian memorials been damaged. This was stated in an interview with Sputnik Armenia by Artem Chernamoryan, the president of the "Nayri" Petah Tikva Association of Armenian-Israelis and founder of the magazine "Israelahayer".

Chernamoryan also noted that the situation in Israel remains tense, with the entire southern part of the country still under rocket fire.

“It is true that the intensity of the rocket attacks has significantly decreased compared to yesterday. It has been relatively calm in the center of Tel Aviv last night; we managed to catch our breath a bit, as the Israeli army immediately went on the offensive. The situation was already returning to normal at night, although the risk of military escalation remains high,” he described in his conversation with the media.

According to him, in the southern part of the country, where military activities continue, the Armenian community does not have churches or memorials, with the majority located in Jerusalem, and fortunately, they have not been hit.

“About 3000 rockets have fallen on a state that is much smaller than Armenia, but much more densely populated, with about 9 million people living in this area, which is twice smaller. Where could people escape to hide from those rockets?” Chernamoryan noted.

According to his data, about 500 Armenians live in southern Israel, who have not left the shelters for two days and are living under extremely difficult conditions. Around 3000 Armenians reside in the central areas, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Petah Tikva.
