Azerbaijani Forces Have Not Entered Stepanakert; Russian Peacekeepers Deployed
Russian peacekeepers have been deployed around the city of Stepanakert following a ceasefire violation by Azerbaijani forces on September 21, with the aim of avoiding further escalation of the situation.
The peacekeepers are stationed in the outskirts of the city, including the Karkhjan neighborhood, as stated in a report. Due to high-security risks, the Karkhjan suburb of Stepanakert has been completely evacuated, former Artsakh Prime Minister Artak Beglaryan wrote on X this morning.
“Azerbaijani forces have approached this suburb of Stepanakert and have even entered the first houses. A ceasefire violation has been recorded here on September 21. Due to high-security risks, all of Karkhjan is empty,” he noted.
Beglaryan made this post earlier today, but did not mention when the ceasefire violation was recorded in Karkhjan.
