The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, has stated that a peaceful resolution to the conflict with Russia will only occur after the cessation of the occupation of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

"The de-occupation of Georgian territories is a prerequisite for the peaceful resolution of the conflict with Russia. This is our political line and message," he mentioned during a meeting with journalists.

The government leader also addressed the anti-Russian political stance of the Georgian opposition, emphasizing that it is being deliberately pursued to further escalate tensions between Georgia and Russia. "Anti-Russian sentiment and, in general, xenophobia are entirely foreign phenomena for Georgian culture," Kobakhidze stated, adding that the spread of anti-Russian sentiment is aimed at undermining Georgia's economic system and the state itself.
