American Generals Arrive in Armenia to Oversee Armenian-American Military Exercises
The U.S. Embassy in Armenia has issued a statement regarding the Armenian-American military exercise taking place in Armenia from September 11 to 20. Below is the statement:
“The U.S. Embassy in Armenia warmly welcomes Major General Gregory Anderson, commander of the 10th Mountain Division, and Brigadier General Patrick Ellis, Deputy Chief of Operations for U.S. Army Europe and Africa. Major General Anderson and Brigadier General Ellis, along with Ambassador Quin, observed the 'Eagle Partner' exercise at the 'Zarr' training center.
The 'Eagle Partner' exercise is designed for peacekeepers and is occurring in Armenia from September 11 to 20 this year. Approximately 85 American and 175 Armenian servicemen are participating in the exercise.
“The 'Eagle Partner' exercise is a testament to our long-standing cooperation with Armenia, grounded in collaboration in the security and peacekeeping sectors, which has been most prominently demonstrated through the strong ties established between Armenia and the Kansas National Guard under the U.S. Department of Defense's State Partnership Program,” said Ambassador Quin.
“We have multilateral cooperative ties with Armenia. The United States has consistently provided support to the Armenian armed forces, particularly in capability development in critical areas such as non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and peacekeeping operations,” said Major General Anderson.
The exercise also aims to enhance the preparedness of Armenia's 12th Peacekeeping Brigade for a planned NATO/ Partnership for Peace 'Operational Capability Concept' evaluation later this year.
It should be noted that within the framework of preparation for international peacekeeping missions, the 'Eagle Partner-2023' Armenian-American exercise is being conducted at the 'Zarr' training center with 85 American and 175 Armenian soldiers.
