Zelensky Claims Putin Will Lose Prolonged War
Russian President Vladimir Putin will be defeated in a prolonged war. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with The Economist.
"Unable to quickly conquer Ukraine, Putin is determined to wear down the country and the resolve of its partners," Zelensky said.
According to him, Putin aims to turn Ukraine into a dysfunctional, desolate state, whose refugees are causing problems in Europe.
"Putin does not understand that he will lose in a prolonged war. Because it doesn’t matter if 60% or 70% of Russians support him. No, his economy will fail. As Ukraine increases its strikes inside Russia, Russians will start asking uncomfortable questions about their army's inability to protect them," the Ukrainian president stated.
Zelensky emphasized that he does not wish to think about a long war, but he is prepared for it. "I must be ready, my team must be ready for a prolonged war, and emotionally I am prepared," he said.
