Pashinyan Discusses Troop Buildup and Border Tensions with Scholz
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has discussed the escalation of tensions along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz. The information has been provided by the press service of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
“The interlocutors addressed issues related to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh due to the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, the accumulation of Azerbaijani forces around Nagorno-Karabakh, and the escalating tensions at the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border,” the announcement stated.
During the phone conversation, Pashinyan reaffirmed his commitment to resolving all issues exclusively through diplomatic means and in a constructive atmosphere, based on the agreements reached in Prague on October 6, 2022, and in Brussels on May 14, 2023.
Scholz noted his readiness to support efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region. The Prime Minister emphasized that he is prepared for urgent discussions aimed at reducing tensions with the President of Azerbaijan.
