Shooting in Lori Province: One Injured

“At approximately 16:50, the operational management center of the Lori regional department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia received a call reporting that gunshots were heard near a funeral home on Agayan Street in Vanadzor,” the website states.

Police officers and investigators discovered nine shell casings from various types of firearms at the scene. Meanwhile, the Vanadzor Medical Center notified the police that a citizen with gunshot wounds to the leg had been transferred to them.

The law enforcement officers at the hospital were informed that the injured individual was in surgery and was unable to provide any explanation regarding the incident.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Lori regional investigative department based on the facts of the incident. The police and the investigative division are determining the identity of the injured person and verifying whether there are other victims.

According to site information, the weapons used at the crime scene included “TT” and “Makarov” pistols, as well as a submachine gun.
