VIDEO: Train Traffic Halted in Flooded Khasan District of Primorye
Due to flooding in Russia's Primorsky Krai, 29 villages have been cut off from road traffic. This was reported by the Primorye government press service on August 30.
"The latest cyclone that struck the Primorye region has caused subgrade erosion and approaches near bridges on the region's roadways. The most difficult situation is currently observed in the Khasan district, where serious traffic complications are also noted in the Olginsky, Khorolsky, and Krasnoarmeisky districts," the press service's statement read.
According to РИА Новости, citing representatives of the Far Eastern Railway, commuter and intercity passenger trains are being delayed in Primorye due to the flooding. The delays range from a few minutes to half an hour, and changes in departure times have been observed due to the complicated situation on the Khiparisovo-Nadezhdinskaya route.
The Ministry of Emergencies reported that more than 1,000 rescuers are providing assistance to residents of the flooded areas.
