Traces of Explosions in 'Nord Stream' and 'Nord Stream 2' Lead to Ukraine: Spiegel and ZDF
Investigations into the circumstances of the explosions in 'Nord Stream' and 'Nord Stream 2' indicate that the traces lead to Ukraine, while there is no evidence pointing to Russia, as expected. This has been reported by the German publication Spiegel and the ZDF television channel.
“Growing evidence suggests that criminals associated with Ukraine may be behind the attacks on the 'Nord Stream' gas pipeline. The federal prosecutor’s office continues its investigation into unknown individuals,” states the joint media article.
The sources clarify that they find the traces leading to Ukraine particularly convincing. According to preliminary data, the Andromeda vessel is still linked to the criminal group. Ukrainian organizers were present in Ukraine both before and after the explosions, the reports indicate.
The explosions on the gas pipelines occurred on September 26 of last year. Consequently, two lines of 'Nord Stream' and one line of 'Nord Stream 2' were damaged, with a distance of about 80 kilometers between the explosion sites. As a result of the devastation, both gas pipelines were effectively rendered out of service, despite the fact that the second 'stream' had not even been officially launched (it had only been tested).
