VIDEO: Armenian Wrestler Suren Agajanyan Advances to Semifinals After Defeating Representatives from Spain, Azerbaijan, and Georgia

On the second day of competitions at the U20 World Wrestling Championships in Amman, Jordan, 60 kg wrestler Suren Agajanyan advanced to the semifinals after defeating competitors from Spain, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

In the qualifying round, the Armenian wrestler won decisively with a score of 9:0 against Spain's Gorka Garikoyan, and then achieved a clean victory over Azerbaijan's Ilkin Gurbanov. In the quarterfinals, Agajanyan faced Europe's reigning champion, Georgian wrestler Anri Khosrevanidze, defeating him also with a score of 9:0 to secure his spot in the semifinals.

Joining him in the semifinals will be 67 kg wrestler Gaspar Terteryan, who has celebrated four victories leading to this stage, and 82 kg wrestler Ruben Gevorgyan, who has achieved three victories in the tournament.

Our other two wrestlers, 72 kg Ashot Khachatryan and 97 kg Arshak Geghamyan, unfortunately lost to Georgia's Anri Putkaradze and Gor Ayvazyan.

This evening, the semifinal matches will take place, along with the bout for the bronze medal featuring 87 kg wrestler Vigen Nazaryan.
