Kazakh Citizens Attempted to Smuggle Around 2kg of Gold Jewelry from Armenia to Georgia
Illegal import of especially large gold jewelry has been prevented at the Georgian-Armenian border. This was reported by the investigative service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.
It was noted that two citizens of Kazakhstan attempted to transport up to 2 kg of gold items worth 189,000 lari (approximately 72,000 dollars) through the 'Sadakhlo' checkpoint. They concealed the jewelry in the trunk of a taxi, disguised in food bags.
The case has been forwarded to the investigative service of the Ministry of Finance.
