120,000 People Struggle Against Malnutrition and Wait Daily for the Unblocking of the Lachin Corridor: Marukyan
Armenia’s Ambassador at Large Edmon Marukyan addressed the humanitarian disaster created in Nagorno-Karabakh due to Azerbaijan's blockade in a post on X (formerly Twitter) and shared a video.
“This humanitarian convoy is still waiting to reach the people of Nagorno-Karabakh to meet their basic needs and end the starvation. But the Lachin Corridor, the lifeline, has been blocked by Azerbaijan for months. 120,000 people, including 2,000 pregnant women, 30,000 children, 20,000 elderly, and 9,000 individuals with disabilities, are fighting against malnutrition and waiting every day for the unblocking of the Lachin Corridor. The international community, especially members of the UN Security Council, can stop the use of starvation as a weapon, which is employed by Azerbaijan as leverage for ethnic cleansing and genocide,” wrote Marukyan.
