Video: Suren Papikyan's Proposal Led to My Appointment, Says Hrachya Sarksyan

The Minister of Defense, Suren Papikyan, proposed my appointment as Deputy Minister of Defense, said Hrachya Sarksyan, the former Mayor of Yerevan and now the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Defense, during a conversation with journalists after the Government session on August 11.

Responding to the question of whether he was appointed to supervise Papikyan, Sarksyan clarified his position, stating, 'I believe we have the Armed Forces, the Chief of Staff, and the military is engaged in their respective functions. Each of us contributes to the army with our experience. We also have civil servants and military personnel in the army; it is quite a large economy, and the city administration has also been quite a sizable economy.'
