10,749 Civilians Have Died Since the Start of the Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Yuri Belousov
According to Kyiv, 10,749 civilians have died since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with an additional 15,599 injured. “Among the victims are also 499 children,” said Yuri Belousov, head of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s office for the prosecution of war crimes, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
“After the liberation of Ukraine's occupied territories, it is presumed that the death toll will 'increase several times,'” the official stated. On July 7, the United Nations reported confirming “more than 9,000 civilian deaths, including over 500 children.” Each UN report notes that the actual number of victims may be even higher, as precise data is lacking from Ukrainian cities occupied by Russian forces.
