The "Mayak" beach in Sochi, Russia, has been closed due to bad weather. This has been reported by a correspondent from RIA Novosti.

It is noted that red flags have been raised at the resorts, and access has been blocked with warning tape.

"The beaches are closed," said a lifeguard at Sochi's central beach.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has warned that heavy rainfall is expected in Sochi today, with wind speeds potentially reaching up to 25 meters per second. Rivers may overflow their banks.

Forecasters have also not ruled out the possibility of whirlwinds and landslides. Lifeguards are urging vacationers to leave the beaches.
