London Police Do Not Consider Sinéad O'Connor's Death Suspicious
Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor has passed away at her home in London, with police stating that her death is not being treated as suspicious, according to a report by The Guardian citing a statement from Scotland Yard.
The singer's body was discovered on July 26 at approximately 11:18 AM. Authorities confirmed that she was already deceased. The cause of death will be determined by an investigation, which may take several weeks, and the results will decide whether a coroner's inquest is necessary, said one of the London coroner's offices.
On the evening of July 26, O'Connor's family announced her passing.
The news of the singer's death was first reported by the Irish Times, which did not specify the location, date, or cause of death.
The Guardian also recalled that on July 9, the singer published a video on Twitter stating she was at her home in London, having arrived there to record new songs. She also mentioned her son Shane, who took his own life in 2022 at the age of 17.
Sinéad O'Connor was 56 years old.
