Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Calls Armenia's Aid to Artsakh 'Aggression'

Baku has described the sending of aid from Armenia to Artsakh as an "aggression" against Azerbaijan's sovereign territory. In a statement released by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is mentioned that "the dispatch of a vehicle convoy from the Armenian side to Azerbaijan's sovereign territory under the guise of humanitarian aid, without coordinating with Baku, constitutes an infringement on Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty and is yet another provocation against the Lachin checkpoint."

"Yerevan cannot tolerate the existence of the Lachin border checkpoint, established for the purpose of controlling Azerbaijan's borders and preventing provocations from Armenia. The fact that the Armenian side has taken such a step immediately after the negotiations held in Moscow, where the existing situation was thoroughly discussed, indicates that Armenia is insincere in this process and, by escalating the situation, intends to mislead the international community. In addition to politicizing humanitarian activities, these actions by Armenia contradict its statements recognizing Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Involving the European Union mission and the diplomatic corps in this aforementioned provocation in Armenia indicates that it was a pre-planned action. Once again, we demand an end to such provocations by Armenia," the statement reads.

Earlier, Azerbaijan's border service had also referred to the aid dispatch as a "provocation."
