VIDEO: Waste Collection Issue Eased; Internal Investigation to Begin

The waste collection issue that had escalated in Yerevan has currently eased. This was announced today, July 24, during a municipal operational meeting by Yerevan's Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan.

He noted that the problem regarding waste collection in Yerevan has been alleviated thanks to the joint efforts of municipal structures, administrative districts, and private companies. However, Avinyan believes that they must focus on a substantive solution to the problem. He expects to be informed in the coming days about what steps are being taken in that direction.

Avinyan also ordered an internal investigation to understand the causes of the waste collection issue to prevent similar problems in the future. “During these summer days, when the volume of waste increases and the equipment is problematic, issues arise, but we must be able to establish a cycle so that this problem does not remain unresolved, and you will be informed later about the results of the internal investigation,” said the Deputy Mayor.
