The European Boxing Championships held in Romania kicked off with an impressive victory for Armenian representative Alik Kchoyan. In the 63 kg weight category, he faced Azerbaijani fighter Kanan Aslanli and won with a score of 5:0.

Victories were also achieved by Tigran Hovsepyan in the 50 kg weight class and Rustam Namoyan in the 73 kg weight class. However, Samvel Siramargyan suffered a defeat in the 70 kg weight category.
