Military Draft Age Changed in Russia: TASS
The draft age for military service in Russia is set to change, with a new bill proposing that the age range for conscription will be from 18 to 30 years old. The Defense Committee of the State Duma has approved the relevant amendment in its second reading, as reported by the committee's chairman, Andrei Kartapolov.
The main change is that the upper limit for the draft age will be 30 years old, while the lower limit remains at 18, as many young men wish to begin their service at that age. 'Now they are given such an opportunity,' said Kartapolov.
Kartapolov also added that the new norms raising the draft age to up to 30 will not affect the autumn conscription of 2023.
