The Russo-Ukrainian War Will Be Long and Bloody, Says US General
The Ukrainian counteroffensive against Russia is far from being called a failure, but the battle ahead will be long and bloody, despite increasing casualties on both sides and minimal changes to the frontline positions.
The United States and other allies have spent months building a "steel wall" of weapons for Ukraine and training Ukrainian forces with combined arms tactics to help Kyiv penetrate Russia's substantial defenses during the counteroffensive.
In response to questions about the Ukrainian counteroffensive, General Mark Milley, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, stated, "It is far from a failure. That doesn't mean we have to win. I think it's still too early to make such statements."
