United Kingdom to Allocate $3.3 Billion for Ammunition Stockpile Restoration
The UK Ministry of Defence will allocate an additional £2.5 billion ($3.27 billion) for the restoration of weapons and ammunition stockpiles in the kingdom's reserves. This was stated in a press release from the department.
UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announced the need to adapt to the current threats and modernize armaments in light of the lessons learned from Russia's military operations against Ukraine.
According to the announcement, investments in the most advanced defense technologies will continue to be a priority.
The additional funding is part of an increase of £5 billion ($6.5 billion) to the UK Ministry of Defence's budget, which Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced in the spring.
