Rail Traffic Resumes After Incident on Crimean Bridge
Rail traffic has resumed after an emergency incident on the Crimean Bridge. The "Simferopol-Moscow" train has departed from the Krasnodar region. This information was reported by the Crimean operational headquarters.
In the early hours of July 17, the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, announced the halt of traffic along the Crimean Bridge due to the emergency incident that occurred near the 145th checkpoint from the Krasnodar region.
It was later revealed that the incident resulted in the deaths of a married couple, while their underage daughter has been hospitalized. Investigators are currently working at the scene.
The emergency incident also caused a traffic jam on the Crimean Bridge from the peninsula side. Ferry operations to Crimea have also been suspended.
