Aircraft Cannot Be Affected by Artsakh Defense Army's Jamming Measures: Artsakh Ministry of Defense
The statement from the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan claiming that the relevant units of the Artsakh Defense Army are periodically jamming the GPS navigation systems of civilian aircraft flying over Artsakh's airspace, thereby creating a serious threat to flight safety, is an absolute fabrication. This was reported by the press service of the Artsakh Ministry of Defense.
“The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense claims that the last such incident occurred on July 13, when the GPS navigation systems of aircraft operating flights along the Zangilan-Fizuli route from 11:54 to 12:07, and along the Fizuli-Baku route from 13:02 to 13:17, were affected by the jamming of the relevant unit of the Artsakh Defense Army. However, the aircraft operating on the mentioned routes do not need to cross the contact line, and therefore, cannot be under the influence of the Defense Army's jamming measures.
It is also worth noting that throughout the 2020 military actions and afterwards, it is the Azerbaijani side that has systematically targeted the civilian infrastructure of the Republic of Artsakh, blocking the Lachin corridor, disrupting the gas and electricity supply lines, and restricting access to the internet and mobile communication,” the statement adds.
