Rescue Service to Enhance Operations on Vardavar Day
On July 16, the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Rescue Service will be conducting enhanced operations due to the "Vardavar" festive events, setting up temporary rescue checkpoints on intercity roads leading to Yerevan, as well as on forested roads. This was reported by the Rescue Service.
“To ensure the safe recreation of citizens, enhanced service will be provided by the Center for Special Operations of the Rescue Services of the Ministry in the lakeside area of Sevan, in the community of Shoghakat in Gegharkunik province, as well as by the special rescue team of Sevan at public beaches No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3,” the statement said.
Dear citizens, we urge you to observe safety rules:
- Be vigilant and follow the instructions of rescue workers in water areas,
- Adhere to fire safety rules in forested and vegetated areas—do not light campfires, do not throw away burned matches or unextinguished cigarette butts,
- Do not leave bottles or glass pieces in sunlit clearings, as they can focus rays and cause fires.
It should be noted that the Day of Christ's Transfiguration – Vardavar – will be celebrated this year on Sunday, July 16.
