US Involvement in the Region Helps Ensure Stability, Says Armenia's Security Council Secretary

The involvement of the United States in the region helps to ensure stability. This was stated by Armenia's Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan in an interview with Voice of America. He addressed Armenian-American cooperation in the security sector, noting that intensive discussions are ongoing.

“We are also considering discussing new options for how we can open new doors for cooperation with the United States in the security sector. We have significant progress in this regard. This area thrives on calm and quiet work. The results will be more visible in the long term. It is very important that we have started intense discussions on cooperation in the security sector with the United States. Armenia is ready to move forward in this regard. We expect that in Washington today, tomorrow, and the day after, we will discuss how to strengthen and expand this cooperation,” said Armen Grigoryan.

In response to the question of whether Armenia's membership in Russian-led economic and military alliances hinders cooperation with the US, Grigoryan noted that there is currently no problem in this regard, and that Yerevan is striving to expand and develop the bilateral agenda today.
