«Armen Ashtuyan is a political prisoner, he has been isolated»: Serzh Sargsyan

The Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashtuyan, is a political prisoner who has been isolated due to certain fears. This was stated by the third president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, during a conversation with reporters.

“He has been isolated from the domestic political situation and our relationships with international partners. There is nothing questionable here. All of this is fabricated,” he said.

It should be noted that Armen Ashtuyan and the former rector of Yerevan State Medical University, Mikael Narimanyan, are accused of embezzling property worth about $100,000 belonging to the university. Since June 16 of this year, Armen Ashtuyan has been detained for two months.
