France Cannot Have a Positive Influence on Resolving Artsakh Issues, Zakharova

It is difficult to surprise us, but President Macron sometimes manages to do so. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing, commenting on French President Emmanuel Macron's statement made during a meeting with representatives of various influential circles in Marseille on June 28, where he claimed that he pressures Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev regarding the Artsakh issue and that he is the only one with a clear stance and message on this matter.

“We are not surprised by Macron's rhetoric; there is a process, but no results because no one has seen those results, not only regarding the resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh. France cannot make a positive contribution to finding solutions to the complex issues of Nagorno-Karabakh. The collapse of the OSCE Minsk Group was also due to France, including the dubious mandate for the EU's observation mission. All these demonstrative steps are not to aid the parties but to push Russia out of the resolution process,” noted the Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
