Wagner Mercenaries to be Replaced by Chechen Soldiers in Ukraine War

The Russian authorities intend to send even more prisoners and Chechen soldiers to Ukraine to avoid full mobilization in the country. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing European intelligence sources.

According to the agency's sources, the shortage of personnel in the Russian army began to form at the end of May, after the Wagner PMC left Bakhmut, which in turn forced Russian military leaders to redirect additional resources in this direction.

The number of prisoners recruited by the Russian Ministry of Defense for participation in the war is estimated by Bloomberg's source at around 15,000, and in their opinion, this number could increase.
